"Russian Manicure Course Beginner to PRO"

I recently took Zina’s Russian Manicure Beginner to PRO Course for beginners on October 27-28, 2024, and for those considering it, here's my in-depth review.
From my first interaction with Zina, I could tell her patience and professionalism set her apart. I had plenty of questions, and she was both prompt and incredibly responsive, never showing a hint of frustration.
Course Day 1: Setup and Theory
Zina arrived 15 minutes early, allowing everyone time to choose a station, get comfortable, and prepare for the day. A quick tip: bring lunch. The break is only 30 minutes and goes by fast. There’s a Mexican restaurant next door to the salon if you prefer not to pack lunch, and there's access to a refrigerator, coffee, and a courtesy water is provided to you. I suggest you bring your own water to remain properly hydrated. (though I can’t recall if there was a microwave).
Preparation Tips:
• Write down any questions you might have before coming to class.
• Bring a notebook to catch the many helpful tips Zina shares and answers to questions from other students.
• Get a good night’s sleep; the course is intense and hands-on.
After a round of introductions, Zina provided a detailed manual book covering everything we’d go through in theory, followed by distribution of our product kits. Theory ran until 12:00 pm, then we took a short break before starting on our models. Each student was paired with a model and guided step-by-step through the Russian manicure process, with Zina inspecting and offering constructive feedback during and the completion of each step. I was able to discern she is a perfectionist and very detail oriented, she will stretch you to produce your best possible outcome within the timeframe.
Course Day 2: Hands-On Practice
On the second day, we worked on two models. By now, we had a solid grasp of nail prep, including detailed cuticle work. The focus shifted to refining application methods. Zina observed our application techniques closely, providing expert tips to and her proven step-by step process to a flawless Russian manicure.
At the end of Day 2, I felt confident with the fundamentals, though I knew more practice would be essential. A standout benefit of the course is that you can reach out to Zina afterward with any questions as you continue to refine your skills.
Is it Worth It?
Yes, absolutely. While it’s may be substantial financial investment for a beginner, this course delivers a solid foundation on Russian manicures. The focus and drive to master the techniques, of course, depend on your dedication. I enjoyed it so much that I’ll be taking Zina’s pedicure course in three weeks!
